The examination materials will differ for each major.
*Second Examination: Interview via telephone in Japanese within 5 days after writing exam. (About 30 minutes)

Before your writing exam, please send us a personal history and a short essay (in English or Japanese) answering the two basic questions outlined below (at least 2 business days in advance):
(1) What is the reason you want to study translation? (Your essay must address the four areas outlined below, in a-d.)
a. Self-introduction and how you will conduct yourself through this study.
b. Why did you choose the field of translation?
c. In the future, what kind of job do you wish to have, and/or what field do you hope to work in?
d. How do you think you can contribute to the field of translation?
(2) Why did you choose BABEL UNIVERSITY Professional School of Translation?
Please limit your essay to no more than 600 words in English, or 1500 characters in Japanese.

Second Examination time and date:

We will carry out the second entrance exam (in the form of an interview) 30 minutes after the completion of the written test. It requires 30 minutes. We will discuss and specify a date and time separately for those applicants who live abroad and face a time difference.
